ABOUT JOE GETTLER
Joe Gettler's photographs are created on Long Island's iconic East End using a mix of traditional photo techniques and modern technology. Most of the images show beauty blurred by passing time, capturing the elegance of night and lone lights painted by people and nature. And the rest of Joe's photos? Well, the East End is beautiful all year round.
Joe is a year-round East End resident. He is a member of the East End Arts Council and won a Strategic Opportunity Stipend (SOS) grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts in June of 2010. He has worked as a volunteer photographer for Habitat for Humanity and his photos have been published by several newspapers, including Newsday and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
